Beggars Night

Halloween this year was spent with family.
Where Scott's family lives they do a "Beggars Night" where they trick or treat on the night before Halloween. I think it's a little strange the city does that, but it work out in our favor this year with Halloween on a Sunday!
We had fun carving pumpkins, there were a total of 17 pumpkins for everyone to carve... (so some of the adults did more than one). It was pretty neat with all of them lit up outside... I think the trick or treaters were impressed!

Here are a couple of spectators!
For dinner we had mummies and apple lips!

We had to hurry after carving pumpkins (they took longer than expected) so we quickly got our costumes on and I'm sure you'll notice ketchup on kids' faces--at least my kids faces!

This year we had a snow angel, a fierce shark that I couldn't get to look at the camera and a little pink poodle!

Oh yeah, and a pumpkin, a good sport husband rock star, and me, I'm just dressed up like my grandma used to do!

We did a few games after trick or treating.

Orchard 2010

Well, of course we went to the orchard this year again... but daddy couldn't come this time. Lucky guy was cleaning garbage on the side of the road with the youth. (The youth in our ward have a stretch of highway they have adopted.) We were running out of season to visit... so we went with out him.

Unfortunately it had been wet and rainy prior to us going so Jameson couldn't do a whole lot, but he sure thought all those apples looked good!

They told us that each basket holds approx. 10 lbs. of apples. It didn't seem to be long before I turned around and each had their basket almost filled or filled...whoa stop! :)

Good thing we like apples. It has been our main fruit for the last 2 weeks!

Well, this past summer at the beginning of July, we had a terrible rainstorm. It rained someting like 7 inches in 1/2 hours (or so I was told). All I know is there was a whole lot of rain in the morning and suddenly we got water in the through the floor drain and shower and toilet...yes, very gross. Luckily it wasn't obvious that it was sewage water, meaning we didn't see any toilet paper. Needless to say, we had quite the project this summer and fall. Scott and I were very naive about that kind of home improvement project, "We'll have it done in a few days, maybe a couple weeks!" Unfortunately not! We're finally starting to wind down our project and here are some pictures from our journey!
This first pictures is a little hard to tell, but if you look closely at the lower 1/3 of the garbage cans (you can see it on the green one the best) you can see how deep the water got in our cul-de-sac.
Here's Scott and a friend removing carpet and pad (Scott was telling me to hurry and take the picture because it was cold and heavy!)

We had cleaners come since it was sewer water, but we had no idea that they would they would cut everything out! Even the entire door jamb of all the doors. All the trim, insulation and bottom 2' ft of dry wall. SO... all the basement came upstairs and out to the garage. All 4 kids were in one room upstairs. It's been a little crazy over here for awhile, but things are getting put back in there place little by little.

In the bathroom they took away our cabinet and vanity too! The kids loved going through the rooms under the wall and playing hide-n-go-seek... unfortunately once all the remodeling started they couldn't do that anymore, but they did get to chalk on the floor sometimes.

This is September 22nd, the night before we got carpet. We had a party at our house! Several friends came and helped work on it with us! Scott pulled an all nighter! Got done at 6:45am, washed up and went to work! At about 9:00 he came for a little nap and then went back. I was only up until 4:30 or 5:00 (and I got up with Jameson once too)!

Sweet Katie stayed until 3:30! Helping us tape and plastic EVERYTHING before Scott painted the ledge with the paint sprayer! But we had fun!

Wesley Had fun watching the carpet layers work and they said they didn't mind him around. When they left it was nice to lay on the soft new carpet. Wesley was so cute he said, "Mom, can I bring our toys back in?!" He comes back in with one thing and announces, "Here's the first toy!"

After working so hard on the basement for so long, we started running out of steam to finish, the last things have taken way too long! But we finally painted the trim and ledge in the bathroom today and hope to get the last few things taken care of this week! I'll have to send pictures of it finished, when all of it is!

Well, here are finally some pictures of Jameson!! He's such a happy baby, we love him so much! I'm sure you will notice many bruises on his forehead...he's always falling into something! Right now he's pulling up on things and always seems to fall into something and hit the cormers of his forehead! Everytime one starts healing-BANG- he hits it again in the same spot! Poor kid! :)
Here's a picture where I was getting him changed and dressed and went to grab clothes, meanwhile he found some googles and put them on and kept on playing!

In this picture we were heading out of town to see family it was taking awhile to get everything ready...he fell asleep waiting!

Just last Friday He had tubes put into both ears... it was sad to see him put under, but we know in the long run it's for his good!

He-man
Rainbow Bright
My little pony (original)
Tom and Jerry
Smurfs
Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote
Gummy Bears
Donald Duck and Chip n' DaleStrawberry Shortcake

It's been fun remembering the shows I used to watch saturday mornings! So what was your favorite cartoon as a kid? Leave a post, let us know... maybe we'll watch it too! :)

Back Online

Well, after a year break, I figure that it's time to catch things up again!
Today we went to a pumpkin farm with Wesley's preshool. It was lot's of fun and we invited our friends Katie and Bryn to come along too! Katie and I got to shoot the 'punkinator' it was pretty neat. I'm sure lot's of places do this, but It's basically an over-sized potato gun that launches pumpkins! They set out a van this year to hit with the pumpkins, but before it was a bus (think the bus was hit too many times!) :) Wesley, Halle and even Jameson enjoyed the blow up toys. (Jameson only went in the pumpkin jumping thing when it ws just our kids in, but he thought it was great!) Here are some pictures of Halle and Wesley going throught the dragon.
Here's Halle and Bryn above.
Below is Wesley and his buddy Evan
And of course Snack time...
(Wesley sat with the guys at the other end of table)

Halloween

Well, this year we got to be with family for Halloween! It was fun and of course Jessica and Kamiah had to be the same thing! All the big girls were Rock Stars, Wesley was a fireman and Halle was a ladybug with an Elmo treat pail that she LOVED. I still hear, "Elmo, Elmo." When she wants some candy.

Where they live they do a thing called 'beggars night' where they trick or treat on the 30th instead of the 31st. I guess it's just an old superstitious thing?? It ended up being a pretty chilly night and a little drizzly out. There weren't a lot of trick or treaters out either so many homes gave a lot of candy since not many people were coming around. Jenn, Scott's sister and I took Halle and Dallin (her son) home sooner than the rest, after awhile most of the kids came back but I guess Jessica said to kamiah, "Come on Kamiah, we're not babies! Let's keep going!" So lucky Uncle Rich got to keep going. They came back about a half hour later. The next night we went to the church for the Trunk or Treat too. Needless to say our kids have lots of candy!

I know I look lovely in the group picture! I was trying to get Wesley to stand and then hurry and get out of the picture... but by the time I got out all the picture takers were done too!

A New Baby!

Well, I'm far behind in posting this, But... we are expecting #4!! In September we had an ultra sound letting us know we are having a boy! Wesley's excited to have a brother and Kamiah's excited that we are following a pattern. :) The kids all along said they knew it was going to be a boy. The lady who did the ultra sound said the siblings always seem to know!

Almost as soon as we started the ultra sound I could tell it was a boy. I'm glad we get to have boy and girl rooms now! Since before the kids were all in one room together. Now the girls are in a pink girl's room and think that's great. And for now, Wesley gets his own room which he thinks is terrific! He loves being able to get out all his boy stuff and playing to his heart's content! I would post some ultra sound pictures but I can't find the DVD they're on. So I'll have to find it later and just get this posted!

Fall Time

We have so many trees (17) so that means LOTS of raking in the fall. The kids always love to play with the leaves and in the piles.
Kamiah and Wesley love to pose for pictures and of course Scott loves to take their pictures!

Halle was taking a nap so she did get in on all the fun or pictures.

Wesley's Birthday

Wesley had a Diego birthday
party this year. Scott really gets into Wesley's birthday parties. He's so good with kids it's fun to watch him with them.
The kids had a mission to get to the Birthday party, but they had to save some animals along the way, go through some tunnels and things. then they made it to the pinata and fun stuff!

It's always fun to watch little kids give each other gifts because they all want to help open or tell what the gift is before you open it. It makes me laugh!

Yes he had a Diego party, but he really wanted a tractor cake!
