Halloween

Well, this year we got to be with family for Halloween! It was fun and of course Jessica and Kamiah had to be the same thing! All the big girls were Rock Stars, Wesley was a fireman and Halle was a ladybug with an Elmo treat pail that she LOVED. I still hear, "Elmo, Elmo." When she wants some candy.

Where they live they do a thing called 'beggars night' where they trick or treat on the 30th instead of the 31st. I guess it's just an old superstitious thing?? It ended up being a pretty chilly night and a little drizzly out. There weren't a lot of trick or treaters out either so many homes gave a lot of candy since not many people were coming around. Jenn, Scott's sister and I took Halle and Dallin (her son) home sooner than the rest, after awhile most of the kids came back but I guess Jessica said to kamiah, "Come on Kamiah, we're not babies! Let's keep going!" So lucky Uncle Rich got to keep going. They came back about a half hour later. The next night we went to the church for the Trunk or Treat too. Needless to say our kids have lots of candy!

I know I look lovely in the group picture! I was trying to get Wesley to stand and then hurry and get out of the picture... but by the time I got out all the picture takers were done too!

A New Baby!

Well, I'm far behind in posting this, But... we are expecting #4!! In September we had an ultra sound letting us know we are having a boy! Wesley's excited to have a brother and Kamiah's excited that we are following a pattern. :) The kids all along said they knew it was going to be a boy. The lady who did the ultra sound said the siblings always seem to know!

Almost as soon as we started the ultra sound I could tell it was a boy. I'm glad we get to have boy and girl rooms now! Since before the kids were all in one room together. Now the girls are in a pink girl's room and think that's great. And for now, Wesley gets his own room which he thinks is terrific! He loves being able to get out all his boy stuff and playing to his heart's content! I would post some ultra sound pictures but I can't find the DVD they're on. So I'll have to find it later and just get this posted!

Fall Time

We have so many trees (17) so that means LOTS of raking in the fall. The kids always love to play with the leaves and in the piles.
Kamiah and Wesley love to pose for pictures and of course Scott loves to take their pictures!

Halle was taking a nap so she did get in on all the fun or pictures.

Wesley's Birthday

Wesley had a Diego birthday
party this year. Scott really gets into Wesley's birthday parties. He's so good with kids it's fun to watch him with them.
The kids had a mission to get to the Birthday party, but they had to save some animals along the way, go through some tunnels and things. then they made it to the pinata and fun stuff!

It's always fun to watch little kids give each other gifts because they all want to help open or tell what the gift is before you open it. It makes me laugh!

Yes he had a Diego party, but he really wanted a tractor cake!

The Apple Orchard

We went to cute little apple orchard this weekend and picked our own apples. The kids always love going and they seem to eat the apples better when they pick the them themselves!

The kids ate as we walked and Halle would take a bite from a new apple every time she reached into her basket! The lady who weighs the apples was laughing when she saw all the apples with bites out of them.

I love to make applesauce after going to the orchard.. which I haven't yet. But it always makes your house smell so good, and I love it nice and warm! Mixing all the different types of apples makes the best applesauce too! You don't even have to add sugar since the apples are sweet enough! Just a little cinnamon or apple pie seasoning makes it perfect! Yum! :)

Kamiah's Birthday Party

Well for Kamiah's Birthday party we had a tie-dyeing party! (Here's a link for tie-dyeing directions.)

http://familycrafts.about.com/cs/tiedye/a/041601a.htm

We made fun shirts, hit a pinata that was homemade to look like a tie-died shirt and played in the water! It was lots of fun! And of course they all ran when the pinata breaks! (we had to give all the moms a turn too since the pinata was too strong! :)

And while everyone one was outside... a little mouse named Wesley snuck in and started wiping off the frosting with his finger and licking it! :) Goofball boy!

Kamiah and Wesley helped me make the pinata and thought it was great! Wesley wants to make one for his birthday too!

Let's give it a shot.

Several of you said how much you enjoyed our blog...

Well, we didn't have one, but thank you! I'm glad you liked it! :) I think what you may have been referring to was the photosite we used to do. Both Lindsay and I did one when I was at Iowa State, but I graduated and the other site went down and we never started again. It is fun to keep up with everyone, so we thought we'd start back up again and give it a shot. It will look very amateur right now, but here goes!

We just got back from a long vacation to Utah and Montana and it was pretty fun. Here is a sampling of our many activities. I'm sure I'll figure out how to do a slide show or something cool someday. But it's late and I need to go to bed. Enjoy the smorgasbord:
